Indian Hill Emergency Roadway Replacement after the August 2009 Flood

Project Description:

ERW was called in at about 4:00 in the afternoon on August 11, 2009 to install an emergency culvert at the base of Indian Hill Road where a Cattaraugus Creek Tributary had washed the existing culvert away the night before. Residents were trapped on Indian Hill road because another tributary at the top of the hill had washed the other end of the road out. Working with Seneca Nation Emergency Management, SNI Department of Transportation, The Town of Perrysburg, the SNI Forestry Department, and others, ERW was able to install a temporary roadway overnight and have it open to residents of Indian Hill by 7:00am on the morning of the 12th. Residents could then get needed services and supplies.

ERW was then awarded a contract to install a larger permanent culvert and remove the temporary roadway installation.
